Bread Pakodas

Preparation time: 15 mins Ingredients: Gram flour: ½ cup Curd: ½ cup Onions: 1 Dried pomegranate seeds: ½ ts Chilly-ginger paste: 1 ts Roasted peanut: ¼ cup Coriander leaves: 1 tb Bread slices: 6 Oil: As required Salt: To taste The Steps: Pre - Preparation : Chop the onions and coriander leaves and grind the pomegranate seeds and peanuts. Preparation : 1) Mix the 2 flours with ½ of the curd, chopped onions, pomegranate seed powder, chilly ginger paste, peanuts, coriander leaves and salt. 2) Add enough water to make a thick batter. 3) Mix the remaining curd with ½ cup water and make buttermilk. 4) Cut each slice of bread into 6 small pieces and then soak them in buttermilk for a few seconds. 5) Remove the bread, squeeze and then put them in the batter. 6) Coat each bread piece with enough batter and then deep fry in hot oil till light brown. Calories: 438 per serving Suggested Accompaniments: Tomato sauce or chutney Left - Over Ideas : 1) Sandwich the leftover bread pakoda pieces with bite size pieces of paneer. 2) Secure with a tooth pick and dot with tomato sauce. 3) Serve this as a starter
