Chane Ke Kebab
Ingredients:
1 cup Kala chana (soaked 6-7 hrs)
1/4 cup Chana Dal (soaked)
2 Onions ( medium sized and sliced)
A small Piece Ginger (chopped)
8-10 Garlic flakes
2-3 Red whole chillies (broken into pieces)
Whole garam masala (Bay leaf, cloves, cardamom (big and small dalchini, pepper)
2 1/2 tsps coriander powder
Salt to taste
Lime juice (according to taste)
1-2 Green chillies (chopped finely - optional)
1 Onions ( Chopped finely)
coriander leaves A Bunch chopped finely Oil
Method:
1-In a pressure cooker, take oil and add sliced onions and till light pink.
2-Add chopped ginger, garlic and whole garam masalas, dry whole red chillies. Fry a little more.
3-Now add the Kala chana and chana dal.
4-Add coriander powder and fry on medium heat till the oil separates out.
5-Add salt and little water (just enough for cooking) and pressure cook for about 10 minutes.
6-The chana should be boiled well.
7-Now grind the chana mixture in a grinder to a coarse paste.
8-In case the Chana mixture is too watery, you can evaporate the excess water till it dries up.
9-In the ground paste add the chopped onion, lime juice, chopped coriander leaves and green chillies.
10-Make round kebabas of the mixture and shallow fry on a non-stick pan.
11-Serve hot with green chutney. This tastes good with parathas too.
