Dalia
Ingredients:
1 cup dalia
1\4 cup oil
1 medium onion sliced
1\2 - chicken in pieces
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1\2 teaspoon black peppercorns
8 - cloves
3 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped
Directions: one line for each direction. When saved the lines will be numbered.
Soak dalia in plenty of water for many hours or preferably overnight. Heat oil in a heavy based skillet; add onion and saut? until light brown. Add chicken garlic, ginger, chili powder and salt and fry for 5 minutes or until chicken turns light brown.
Add black peppercorn, cloves and 4-5 cups water, bring to boil, then reduce heat, cover and cook for 1\2 an hour or until daliya is very tender and mushy. Add more water, if you want thin and soupy. Adjust the seasoning with salt, add coriander leaves, stir once and pour in serving dish.
Heat 3-4 tablespoons butter or oil in a small frying pan, add 3 slices of onion and fry until light brown, add 3 whole red chilies, stir once and pour over dalia and serve at once.
